Reports & Transparency
Our commitment to accountability, honesty, and open communication with our community.
At Miss Takes Film Club®, transparency is not just a policy — it is a core part of who we are. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we believe our members, partners, donors, and community deserve to see exactly how we operate, where our money goes, and what we accomplish together. This page is your resource for all reports, financial summaries, and organizational updates — updated as new reports are published.

Our 2025 legal spend reflected one-time costs to establish our 501(c)(3) status and federal trademark. That foundation is now in place. Going forward, the majority of funds go directly toward storytelling, skill-building, and community — the heart of what Miss Takes does.
In our early years of operation, a portion of organizational expenses were personally covered by our Co-Founder and President, Vanessa Provencio, to ensure Miss Takes could operate fully and professionally while building its donor and sponsor base. This reflects her personal commitment to the mission and the community we serve.
Our Impact by the Numbers

Every program in the Miss Takes Universe is free and open to all. Here is a look at what each program accomplished in 2024–2025 and what we are building toward in 2026.

In 2025 we launched our newest studio — the Miss Takes Music Studio — creating a dedicated space for composers, musicians, and music producers to collaborate directly with our filmmakers. This bridges the gap between sound and story, giving both musicians and filmmakers a richer production experience.
Miss Takes Productions
Our in-house production program gives cast and crew real, hands-on experience across every stage of filmmaking — from casting and pre-production through editing and release. All positions are 100% volunteer with meals provided and all production costs covered.

Honorable Mentions Showcase
Our annual showcase gives college filmmakers a safe and welcoming space to screen their work, share their experience, and receive meaningful feedback. Held at a local theater with a red carpet experience and live Q&A sessions — because every filmmaker and every story deserves to be celebrated.

Free admission always — because access should never be a barrier. In 2025 attendees donated 168 cans of food to the Houston Food Bank in lieu of admission, reflecting the community spirit at the heart of everything we do.
Miss Takes Community & Wellness
At Miss Takes we don't just make films. We move together, explore together, and connect together. Our community programs give members a chance to build relationships, discover new experiences, and take care of themselves inside and outside the studio.

From park picnics and brunches to bowling, concerts, museum visits, group walks, yoga, and basketball — our community programs keep connection, wellness, and creativity free and accessible for everyone. Everything is free or low cost because connection should never have a price tag.
Looking Ahead to 2026
In 2026 we are focused on expanding production opportunities, growing our Music Studio, strengthening our Honorable Mentions Showcase, and deepening our community partnerships across Houston. Every program remains free and open to all — and your support is what makes that possible.

Featured Production — Hard to Say No
The primary production focus for May through July 2026 is Hard to Say No — a comedic drama web series developed through the Miss Takes Writers' Studio. The story follows a man fresh out of 30 days of therapy who returns home to find every reason he should not have. Currently in the crew preparation stage, the production brings together a full cast and crew of approximately 32–40 people across two 10-hour shoot days, with all meals provided. Hard to Say No represents everything Miss Takes is built on — stories born in community, produced with intention, and protected from day one.
