This is not a competition. There are no prizes, rankings, or awards. This is a space for recognition without pressure — creative exchange, community building, and celebrating filmmakers who use their work to move audiences.

Bring 2 items to the door from the Houston Food Bank most-needed items list or the Star of Hope Mission donation list. Donations are collected at the door.

What to expect
Screening + Live Q&A
All accepted films will be publicly screened and followed by a live Q&A session with the filmmaker. The Q&A will primarily feature the director or writer, though cast and crew may also participate if time allows.
The focus of this event is exposure, community, and creative discussion.
Red Carpet Experience
Arrive early and walk the red carpet before the screening begins.
Public Screening
Your film will be screened in front of a live audience at The DeLuxe Theater.
Live Q&A
Lead a conversation with the audience about your film, your process, and your story.

Eligible institutions
Submissions are open to current college students or individuals who graduated in Spring 2026 from any of the following institutions.

A submission password and waiver code are required for each institution. To request access, please email us or send a direct message on Instagram confirming that you meet the eligibility criteria. We will respond with your institution's password and waiver code.

The Honorable Mentions Showcase has always been free and open to the public because access should never be a barrier.
In the spirit of community, we invite attendees to bring 2 items to donate to a local Houston organization. Details on our donation partner will be announced closer to the event date.
We believe great storytelling belongs to everyone.
