Miss Takes Productions
Miss Takes Productions is our in-house program that brings member scripts to life and gives cast and crew hands-on experience in every stage of filmmaking.
Projects include:
Fully scripted works developed through the Miss Takes Writers’ Studio, filmed, edited, and shared on our website and YouTube channel: @MissTakesCreates
What’s That Take?, a community stories segment highlighting Houston organizations and providing experience in interviews, storytelling, and community engagement
How It Works
Script Selection: Scripts come from Writers’ Studio members, with priority for active members from other Miss Takes programs. Participation in the Writers’ Studio does not guarantee production. Scripts are reviewed for readiness, alignment with our mission, and production capacity.
Casting & Crew: Calls are held for every project. Members can rotate through departments and gain experience in pre-production, filming, and post-production. Crew positions are reserved for Miss Takes members.
Timeline: Projects usually take 3–4 months. Film festival initiatives may span 2–3 years to allow proper guidance, rehearsal, and skill development.
Professionalism: NDAs, deal memos, and agreements ensure clarity and accountability.
